We often see so many negative things said about lefthanders and language often works against us so we thought we would start this newsletter by focussing on some POSITIVE quotes and sayings about lefthanders. Here are some of the best ones we have seen and you can use this link to see this article online and add any more you know by commenting there.

I may be left-handed but I am always right! This was actually created many years ago by Keith Milsom and his father Reg when brainstorming for ideas to put on badges, but can now be found all over the internet. We actually did a set of 3 badges to change depending on your mood - the picture on the right is from one of our very old catalogues.

The next two are a couple of variations on a theme:

An early biblical reference to left-handers being very talented fighters:

    Why are left-handed people not featured in adult education brochures? The same goes for magazines - you never see a lefty in these publications doing some cookery, or writing! - do adult education centres not want us taking part in their courses? ! I used to take part in working holidays with British Trust for Conservation Volunteers and on one project, I was helping to prepare some vegetables - the leader - male- criticised me for holding the knife the wrong way round, he later apologised when he realised I was left-handed - he was a lefty himself!

    I do a Biomedical Sciences Degree at a University, I'm in my final year. But I am also a Film screenwriter, I enjoy delving into my own emotions and conveying them onto scripts in the areas of action/adventure/unconditional love/resilience and struggle. In other words, I write scripts that have emotional value, I write scripts in such a way that literally amazes people who read it around me. I have never taken a workshop or a class of any sort in screenwriting/filmmaking. Yet, I write as if I have been doing forever. I am only 21, but I am left-handed guy. I am emotional but only for things that matter to me dearly - a special girl, my friends and my family.

    I am able to process an abstract idea *clicks fingers* just like that.

    As someone in the comment section wrote, we can write poetry and do artistic things easily (even without prior experience) because for us to creatively self-express is so easy yet powerful - it can fan out people around us because they don't understand our psychology. We are not better than anyone, we are just different.

    We are empathetic, gentle, emotionally upright and firm in our convictions in being there for those we love and doing the things we enjoy.

    I am proud to be left-handed. We left-handers went to the moon, we were the Presidents of the United States, we were the musicians that sent shockwaves around the world in the 20th Century, we are the artists, the writers, the poets the visionary filmmakers (like Christopher Nolan) and we are the humanitarian activists.

    A privilege indeed.

    I am the only person in my entire family that is left handed including both sets of grandparents, aunts and uncles. Cousins and everyone. I am a only child, both parents are right handed, I have a daughter and a son both right handed. So I'm am not sure where I got to be left handed

    But here is another that my cousin Julie came up with when she was at a gi ela Catholic school in Michigan.
    "The bible is talking about left-handed people, the bible says that God's children shall be picked on and persecuted and have no place to put their heads, well left-handers are picked on and persecuted and have no place to put their hands!
    So the bible is talking about left-handed people!

    This is logic based, "when you are sitting at your desk and you are right-handed your right side of your desk isn't obstructed because you use the mouse for the computer and it needs an uncluttered area in order to use. And when someone comes to you for help you have them sit on your left side so your right hand is unobstructed...well left-handers do all that on the opposite side (the left side) with people sitting on their right.
    Now we do this without even thinking about it, we do this naturally!
    Now with this in mind God is LEFT-HANDED, because when Jesus died he rose again to sit at God's right hand making God left-handed!

    And the bible talks about God's children being picked on and persecuted...left-handers are picked on and persecuted, so the bible is talking about left-handed people! ;)

    Greetings from across the "pond"! My wife buys every shirt she finds with a Left Handed saying on it for me. Two recent ones are: "Anything worth doing is worth doing left handed" (As opposed to the saying "Anything worth doing is worth doing right") and "I'm left handed, what's your super power?"

      Saralinda, that gets an Amen from me...I have three of four children who are lefthanded. And the fourth one couldn't make up her mind. I guess she decided to keep her dad company.

    As a left-handed golfer, I am always being "accused" of standing on the "wrong" side of the ball but in reality Lefites are the ONLY ones who stand on the RIGHT SIDE of the ball.
