My right arm is my stronger arm and I only use my left hand for eating, writing and brushing teeth. Everything else is done using my right hand/arm (including use of scissors, bowling, batting baseball or throwing basketball). Another weird thing to me is if I'm going to carry a bag/backpack, I always carry it on the left side.
Are there others who experience this?
It could be that, they are not so well read, especially about left handedness.
After l graduated,l did my teachers,s training and, started teaching in a boy,s school. Here,I used to write on the blackboard with my right hand but on books with my left hand.Likewise, when l use a pair of scissors,l use my right hand but, when l need to use a knife to chop veggies etc,l use my left hand.l am fine with myself, and even today at seventy years of age,l have a strong desire to study even though l am a post graduate in Sociology.I am very happy about myself but, cannot understand why people are so stuck with their old mode of thinking.
this si fun!
Not sporting but a right-handed world may have something to answer for in that respect.
I'm a 62 year old woman from Baltimore, Maryland, USA. I was born left handed and am totally that way. I do everything lefty, except, of course the computer keyboard where there was no choice.
Being left handed runs in the family. My mother was left handed as well as her mother and some of my aunts (there were 6 altogether). We wound up with 2 lefties (me and my older brother and one rightie (my younger sister) My father was right handed.
My "left handed thing " is writing backwards. I can write so that if you hold it up to a mirror you could read it.
I glad to now be in a lefty club.
I have always been proud to be different as a lefty and fortunate that no one tried to change that in school. That was the thing in my mothers day, but she stood her ground and stayed a lefty all the way too! I liked having to stand different for archery or softball.
Go Lefties!
unfortunately that seems to be one of the main skills im good at that Iv acquired naturally I dont think left handed people are superior to anyone else but I do believe every left handed person has a god gifted talent that blows everyone else out the water it could be anything this cant be a coincidence that such a thing comes so natural for left handers whatever it is embrass it and become what your meant to be,on that note unpon my research I found out apparently left handed people live a shorter life but happen to be bigger then life itself maybe its cause we use the right side of our brain witch apparently isnt the normal "right side" according to some people who are right handed
Geoff Cadman.
As a 16 yr old, I've already found many struggles in society such as having to ask for the "specially made", left handed tools and products as everyone assumes I'm right handed. It is such a pain!
Thank you very much for welcoming me to the association.
I am kule John 22yrs, a left hander and I am a medical laboratory technician from Kampala Uganda.
Best regards.
He has commented to me on several occasions over the years that being left-handed has probably taken years off his life because of the stress it can cause on a daily basis!
I discovered this first hand when he needed to use our lovely new designer,( naming no names here, but the company has been contacted!) kitchen tongs. As usual, against my better judgement, I was swayed by the ergonomic design and perfect colour for my kitchen line!!! Note to self....not the best way to choose a piece of equipment you use everyday. I should know better after nearly fifty years.
Anyway, getting back to the point here! My husband was just about to turn over the steaks he was cooking to perfection......."UUrrrrggh, I can't use these, they don't work", as I then discovered for myself when I held them in my left hand. "LIGHT BULB" moment......We do not consider the left-hander enough, including our nearest and dearest......Time to acknowledge and be proud of it.
I also work in a school with Reception children and feel throughly ashamed not to have realised how important it is to support our left-handed children properly. (Don't worry, I shall be shouting the message loud and clear from now on).
There is a beautifully written piece on the "families online" website about this, which I believe directed me to yours. It not only points out the problems, but demonstrates how, with a little consideration, we can support our left-handed students quite easily and not submit them to several years of frustration and misery at school and beyond.
Be LOUD and PROUD left-handers!!! You are often very creative thinkers.....well, you've had to be to survive a dominating right-handed world xx
I use the left hand for almost everything- eating, writing, drawing, brushing my teeth, throwing something, playing games, sports(except football),handling tools etc
Few exceptions are as follows: using mouse and playing guitar.
Here are details about the football exception:
When I was a kid (about seven yrs) I used to play football with my left foot. Gradually, I was able to tackle the ball with both feet (Including dribble, shoot and pass). Afterwards I noticed that my preffered foot became the right one until now, without willing to change my former playing style. Can somebody explain this change?
I thank both members and founders for concretising this brilliant idea to create a lefty club (since we are only 10%-15% throughout the world!).
Proud to be lefty and wish you all the best for the future.

In Australia, we lefties are called MOLLIES.
One in 10 is a Molly.
So look at the incredible list of American Presidents -
Obama, Clinton, G W Bush, Reagan, Ford, Truman, Kennedy, Garfield, Hoover [he didn't give a dam], all Mollies, all leaders!
It is using the right side of the brain that won me 5000 to one on Leicester City. Tom Hanks used a different method & won £500000!
I am interested in knots forlefthanded sailors
All the items on sale on this site are really awesome and helpful on a world that was not designed for us.
Thanks a lot, cheers and pura vida!! :D
Delighted to be part of a left handed club and share ideas and frustrations. My Mother was left handed but sadly they bet it out of her at school . I also have a nephew who is a lefty too.
I think we are good at adapting, after all we live in a right handed world!
I recently took up crochet and was the only lefty in the group until last week when a new member joined and she's a lefty too. I've noticed most patterns are printed with right handed instructions, very frustrating.
Look forward to hearing all the bad and good sides of being a lefty.

The one thing I hate the most about being left handed is playing games. Back when I first learned to use a computer, most people played PC games with the numpad, not the traditional WSAD that most people use today, thus I learned how to use the mouse in my left hand. Now, whenever I get a new game, I have to spend about five hours customizing the keyboard just so I can complete the tutorial.
This is really awesome and I love being a lefty!

I'm also in secondary school, but from Australia and I'm glad that I have finally met another person that is left handed and goes to secondary school!!! (I'm literally the only one in my grade left handed)
Thank You All for All You Do!! Left Handed Have My Heart Always!!!

It never occurred to me that I was different cuz of my LH writing. When my son came along, I took his LH side in stride. My first child Amy is a right hander. Guess my school didn't try to change me.
Stand your ground and defend your son's style. We are all unique in this world and that includes our writing tendency.
My son's writing is rather bad and looks like his dad's. My writing is very beautiful and can be either straight up ur slanted to the right. My moods dictate the style.
Stay strong and remain a leftie. It's just some gadgets thst make it hard to work in the kitchen. And even the toilets are backwards!
Being a leftie is challenging but worth it! We are very talented people! =)
I dont really see it being fair that we have to use all the right handed stuff..... it is really hard to use DX
I also wish that there was more left handed items.
I would love a left handed desk at school and a left handed computer, i draw digital art with a laptop but i have to draw it with my right hand which is terribly hard.
I hope the best for lefties out there and i hope they are doing better than me with this stuff ^^'
I just found this site and had to join! I'm from the USA and have been the only leftie in my immediate family for years until my cousin had a son that turned out to be a leftie as well!! I'm happy to say that now there are 4 of us in the family that have turned out to be lefties, including my grandson!! How exciting!! I was never forced to change hands and am thankful for that. It has been a life of adaptation, but I wouldn't change a thing!! I was a nurse for over 20 years with the majority of my career being in psychiatric patient care. I am a very good driver. And, I also write as a right handed person does and have beautiful penmanship. People are amazed when they see my writing that I'm a leftie!! :) I've always been proud to be a leftie and so glad we have our own special day to celebrate!! After all, we are the only ones in our right minds!! LOL ;) Thanks for having this club and allowing me to join!!
Levels of LH'ness have always interested me throughout my 51 years. I was always wondering how unusual my characteristics were:
generally left handed (95% on the test) and right-footed (I play football), but...if I use two hands (eg golf, guitar, knife and fork, boxing, snooker) I am right-handed. When asked, I say LH for one-hand tasks, and RH for two-hand tasks. Am I an interesting freak ? Or are there plenty more of us out there ?
I am very much like you - left handed for racket games, left hand bowler/right hand for bat in cricket, right footed football, left hand spoon but cack handed with knife and fork.Left hand writing.
When I first started in architecture as a youngster writing on the drawings was italic - being left handed I had to stand at the top of the drawing and write up side down to get the thick and thin strokes the right way round. Awasome isn't it!!

Subject: left-handed Surform blades?
Message: I'm not 100% LH,and part ambidextrous. But I DO use a saw and
rasps with my left hand.
My original Surform file ( 1970-ish ?!) wore out, so bought an new
one. The blade configuration means the scraping bits slantleft to
right, so tha one cant get a full abrasive action when using it
left-handedly.
I ca't find LH info from Stanley's websites, nor elsewhere.
Am I misubderstanding somethin? Has any other lefty remarked?
Advice, please.
Thanks and regards
I look forward to Club Meetings....

Computer mouse and guitar.... why is this?
hope all is well :)
i think that your son being a leftie is amazing and you guys should embrace it and work on it.
you should make him feel special, make him feel unique.
you never know what could become it :D
if you really believe that he could improve his writing preformance, then you should work on th skills he already has as a left hander, just make sure he feels happy with this.
i kno he's only four but kids always feel insecure when they are different from others, make him feel like he has a talent and tell him that he should embrace it and work on it to make it better then it already is.
hope this helps,
have an amazing day. :D
However if there's no lines his formation of letters are high and low. Any advise would be greatly appreciated. ...
.
And then being left handers is not to bad.
I came across this site by chance and I just had to sign up! (how could you refuse when they offer you a free backwards calendar?)
I am honoured to be a part of this exclusive 10% club.
LEFTIES OF THE WORLD UNITE!
Although I now miss not having the use of my right side, I am very happy to be fully functional as a one armed man.
Sincerely,
Dr. William "Mr. Bill" Jolley
Just joined! Am from "across the pond" (USA).
Just read Amber's comment and was amazed. I worked for 13 yrs in a craft store where over half of the staff were left-handed. Past stats I've read say that 33% of US population are lefties.
Anyone have an idea why the numbers differ so much between the UK and USA?
Robin
I once use to see a doctor who is in his 70's left handed & writes with a fountain pen! Fascinating watching him write.
I have known about Left Handers Day; Aug 13, for many years, but just learned of this club today and just joined. I have two cousins (girls) who are left handed; the 3 of us are children of 3 sisters and were born within 1 year of each other. I have 4 grandchildren and the first two older ones are 14 yrs old and are left handed. I heard somewhere that the "left handed gene" skips a generation, but after reading some of the comments here, clearly not the case.
One of my hobbies is tracing my ancestry and a special joy has been to find the "line" where the left handed trait descended. I live in the USA, but the Carpenter line (from the UK) in my ancestry are who I have to thank for passing this trait to me.
What a great day to join the LH Club.
Happy Left Handers Day to all!!
BTW, I'm a 69-yr-old.
So very very happy to find this club, just awesome. Can't wait to tell buddy in UK who is left handed he will love it!!
My name is Fabrus Guillaume, i just find out on the radio driving to work there was International left -Handed Day. Which makes so happy, I used to get pick on when I was a kid in Haiti, that it was a cursed that you are Left-Handed. Now I feel so good there's an organization about us (Left-Handed).
Great Job guys.
Thank you.
Warm Regard from Haiti.
As all lefties will know, using anything manufactured for Right handers,
is sometimes very difficult and makes Lefties look stupid and clumsy.
So when I discovered the lefties shop I was delighted and my life was
much happier when I began using items manufactured for us lefties,
I was aged about twenty years. Now I am a mid octogenarian so I wonder
if I am the oldest leftie member alive?
Smile, Tess.
My name is Samantha & I just joined the site today.
Here's a tricky question for you, which wrist do you wear you watch on?
I wear mine on my left to confuse people & then they assume I'm right handed, which I'm not I'm a true lefty through & through.
I use all right handed items in my left hand, because the stuff that is designed for left handed people I can't use because I never get them to work for me.
Do any of you have this problem? Please left me Know what you think.
Thank you
Kind Regards
Samantha Belshaw
Oh by the way happy 8th birthday to you Lois, may you have a good one.
My husband has just heard about this day on the radio whilst driving to work and has just rang to tell me. I am a proud lefty, last week I started having guitar lessons and they wanted me to learn to play right handed. I refused, if you can't be left handed in this day and age (there's someone wrong). They explained to me that there isn't a lot of left handed material out there and I will have to learn to read the strings backwards (it's hard but I will keep trying).
The sooner I learn to read music the better, at least that won't be backwards.
Im doing knife by my lefthander.
Thank you for opening this web!.
I work as a school bus driver and you would not believe how many of us are employed as such, it is more than fascinating it is telling, but telling of what is the question I have to figure out……If any other female lefties out there have any thoughts on this other than we ARE better drivers please help me know how we managed to channel ourselves into the same career. No offense to the males out there the school district I work for dose have a considerable amount of LH men, but I would say there are more female lefties. And to me this is the interesting anomaly because we are less than 10% of the population.
This site has a magnificent vast diversity of individuals from all over the world! I am glad and proud to be included, the only thing is that there seems to be no follow up with the post so once again , the inclusiveness is out the window so to speak. Is no one responding to other post or do they just get hung up in the awaiting moderation section? If that is the case then this portion site is in vain. If not People if you want connectives then you have to give it.

Mystery of the Left Hand on a free site called documentary heaven.
I've never met another female leftie come to think of it. Is that more rare than in males? The film says lefty-ness has to do with testosterone levels in the mother during certain period of gestation. And a mom with high stress = more cortisol could = more testosterone. Never knew that either.
I bat and throw underarm left handed but bowl overarm right handed. I draw with either hand but colour with the left. I think I am mostly left handed but with some ambidextrous tendencies. On most test measures I come up left handed anyway.
It's always been a thing so I'm comfortable with it but I do get some odd reactions from people.
Those people who are right handed use their left side brain. We lefties use the RIGHT side. Cause where always right. LFL. Lefties For Life
"Never give up, never surrender!"
Thankyou for showing the world left handed people are ok. Now it is ok in school to be left handed. I have one out of my five children who is left handed and one out of my 8 grandchildren who is left handed.
I'm lefty by birth and im feeling very happy to join this group becoz its a first time that i have seen a group which is for special ppl :)
My niece once told me how she finds it weird seeing an old person using a left hand to eat, Just couldn't hold ma breath but to laugh.. seeing ma self in a mirror real looked odd.
i am Malaysian Chinese, i work as UX designer. I am lefty but i write & use chopstick with right hand due to the tradition Chinese people think that is wrong using left hand, so i changed to right hand for writing & using chopstick by force since i was a kid.
Being lefthanded is pretty cool leftie's aint dum im not backwards we are unique in our own way lucky to be a leftie :))
I'm a southpaw in every way. I'm so left that when I hang up my shirts in the closet They all face left when I'm standing looking at them.
I have a younger brother who is right handed. One day me and him were talking about my abilities with computers. He made a comment that made me laugh before I put him in his place. He said "You know you're really good at that, but then you always were kind of smart. It's just too bad you're a backwards lefty."
My response was, "I'm not backward. Us lefties are normal. Its the rest of the world that's backward, they just haven't figured it out yet."
In every way. I just use the right side of my body to fill out my
clothes. Ha!
I was just thinking about my earlier years... I loved to color as a young child. Who didn't? My mom later told me how she feared I would have a harder time as a "lefty" growing up. So, she tried to persuade me to become right-handed. She would stick the crayons in my right hand. But I would soon start chattering away with my sister and would get back to coloring with my left. I neverdid learn right handedness and she gave up when she noticed iI was definitely a lefty.
I remember still those horrid metal safety scissors that never cut a thing in school. Made for rightys, the grooves on the fingers would cause so much pain and leave terrible marks! Regardless, I was stellar in school when it came to art, my true love. (Why didn't they have those plastic lefty scissors in the eighties? Ugh...)
I ended up going to college and then university for fine arts. Talk about still facing the same old lefty issues but on a bigger scale! (By the way, I have phenomenal penmanship. But I HATE pencils! No smudges for me, thanks! Although I do get inked now and again). But I did learn some interesting things about left-handedness in art while there. It used to be a sign of evil, bad omen, witchcraft, and devilish. Artists would paint their idea of Jesus with His right hand up and left down, or only Hisright up. This is because the Bible says He is seated at the right hand of God. So biblically, in religious artworks, right meant good and left was equated with evil. Actually, looking at a lot of "older" art, that's a pretty recurrent theme. Here's another bit interesting: cultures in some places typically have people use one hand (right) for eating and such, and the other (left) for using the toilet. And yup switch the hands would be certain instantaneous social death. :) Like left-handedness needs to be reaffirmed by certain cultures as something vile.... ha!
Well anyways, do us all the great service of educating others, and don't force children to become rightys. Even though those damn can openers and opening jars may not work worth a crap (I just had to auto correct "crap". It said "Casio" instead! Too funny! Isn't that the truth?)
I am a natural lefty by birth.
I am a 42yr old.
I play cricket- left hand opening bat& left arm spinner- represented districts.
I play T.T left handed pen hold& have represented my zone in All india.
Great to be associated with such lovely like minded(like handed) people.
Cheers!
Mind you i'm lucky to be able to type this message as I have been mending the roof of the shed today and fell off the ladder scratching and cutting my right hand, arm and leg....but my good old left side doesn't have a scratch, I think its called left hand preservation ?
All the best for the new year to you lefties
Tom
Being left handed is an honor.
Everyone in my immediate family is left handed with the exception of my Mother, but she is still in her "right" mind.
James
I love being LH despite the teasing I sustained when growing up.
Let's celebrate our leftiness - I do and I always notice other lefties and this makes for a great conversation starter.
Merry Christmas lefties around the world from me in Auckland, New Zealand!!!
Hope you have a Great Christmas.
Mark Phillips
ANYWAYS that's really cool that they have a holiday and club for it I didn't expect that but I'm gonna celebrate August 6th as left-handers day for how on I marked it on my calander on my wall so I don't forget it welp byeee
I just joined the club myself and your post stood out to me, and so I’m replying to you and I hope that your day is going well. I see that it’s been some time since you posted so If your still on the other end of this I don’t know. I’m a 43 year old (not an alcoholic), but I sure could have been. In fact there was a time I even TRIED because I thought all great artiest were. I’m sure your reasons for being one are better than mine.
If your interested you can correspond with me….?
At restaurants I sit on the end so I won't elbow anyone.
Hey, has anyone else noticed this? Lefties need more room than righties? At desks, tables, etc.
I am left handed and so is my son!
I always felt i was weird, being the only lefty in our family,,but i think i am,,as i only write with my left hand, unless on a black board, and then i can use both hands,,other than that, i seem to do all things with my right hand,,whats going on,,i,m confused,,,haha. can anyone help!!!!
They say that lefties live shorter lives than right handers! That is probably true because the brightest stars shine for a shorter time! Go Lefties.
What do my fellow lefties think?
i'm the only left-handed in my family. I never expect there's a club for left-handed!
greetings everyone!
I'm from Indonesia by the way.
Happy Lefties Day!
I have just joined The Left Handers Club and they have loads of interesting information about left-handedness as well as specially designed products for left-handers like me.
Thanks &best regards,

Cheers lefty from all around the world.......

I did make a mistake, now fixed.
I did belong some time ago, but PC went haywire & I lost everything.
So, I'm a LH Woodturner, & I give the Righties my all.
I believe that The Wood Lathe was made by a LHder for Left Handers, as we stand in the centre of the Lathe.
I must admit that I am a bit Ambidextrous, but not much.
I can also remember my Teacher came to our home one evening, spoke to Mum & Dad & wanted to change me to be a Right Hander, & my Parents gave her a short shift.
Regards,
Lewis Harper.
I am the odd one out in my family no one is left handed except from me i dont know where i get it from but im proud to be different from everyone in my family
From one fellow lefty to another, I hope all is well with you over there in the Ukraine. When we all can be looked upon without prejudice for being different, unique or lefty, etc. the world will be a much better place for us all. Change comes slowly as we all know. I have been praying for your country, for peace, understanding & resolution :)
Michael
I am 55 and grew up the only left hander in my immediate family. My dear dad often called me cack handed and the origin only just clicked with me today and prompted me to look online. I have always felt special and proud to be left handed. My dear grandad, grandfather to about 21children has about half as left handed.
It is fantastic to now be in touch with so many others.
I had heard that left handed people are more adaptable as they live in a right handed world. I can't wait to buy a left handed pencil sharpener, the Bain of my life.
Left handed Kenyan girl :)
Do you know of that test, or a test such as that one? Could be good, even useful, to include a test for this web-site.
https://www.lefthandersday.com/lefthanded_survey
There is also a link on that page to an analysis of the results so far
What an interesting website that I have just stumbled across! You might find my family interesting. I am the youngest of 6 girls and from the oldest to me there is a 15 year age bracket. This is where it gets interesting, down the line we go right handed, left handed, right handed, left handed, right handed, left handed! Both our parents were right handed. There was so much pressure on my as a child between the older sisters wanting me to be either right or left handed and I was apparently ambidextrous for a few years before my natural lefty took over. Thankfully our Mum embraced our left handedness and I will always remember her coming to school and putting one teacher in her place who would have me rewrite all my work with my hand hooked around to get the 'proper cursive slant' instead of my very neat & natural straight up and down style writing - thanks Mum!
Even though we are all very alike, there are definite personality differences & similarities between the right handed sisters and the left handed sisters, which is really interesting.
So I guess we are quite unique if only 10% of the population is right handed, as we are 50/50.
Cheers
Bronny
You go left on writing left handed. That's natural to you and you should do that. Left on!
I remember my teacher trying the same with me. My mother wrote a note saying, "No, David is left handed and he should continue that way." The tacher let me write left handed after that. Good luck to you!
Please, allow me to ask you the following questions:
1) Which test(s) can be done to make sure an adult who has been considered right-handed was actually born left-handed, please ?
2) Do you have interesting publications about the neurological consequences and risks when a left-handed born child grows up like a right-handed one, please ?
Thank you very much in advance.

I am not the lefty in the family, my husband is. I wanted to leave a comment, so I had to join your club. Is there a club for Lefty Lovers? If so, that's the club that I needed to join. There have been many things in my 38 year marriage that I, as a right hander, have had to learn to master. (The things we do for love.) That being said my question is:
Do any of you leftys out there fight with the garden hose? Have you ever found one that is wound to the left side? My husband just does not seem to understand that he lives in a right-handed world. He cannot grasp the concept that the hose has been "trained" to be wound to the right. This causes the hose to constantly kink and spring a leak at the site of the kink. It is getting costly to be replacing the hose all of the time.
First: Leave some water pressure in the hose while you are winding (this means you need to have a nozzle that closes) , also it helps to straighten the hose out first. You might actually find that you can wind it up OUR” way and not have a problem. I have only had this issue with extension cords.
I am now looking for a left handed craft guillotine, so far not found one.
They say if you are left handed you are very clever.... don't know where I went wrong !!!
im glad i found people like me and fight for the cause of stopping discrimination
of the lefty, im from portugal =D
And more to the point, you know how lots of people say that they can't use touchpad - it's probably because they're trying to use the mouse (right) hand for it. Do any left-handed people people use their left hand on the touchpad as well and do they have problems with using it? Because then we can tell the world the solution to the problem!!! (not that any right handed people would deign to use their left hand for anything - I apologize for stereotypization :)).
people that are left handed not including me. I'm left handed,
Lots of people say oh your left handed, very annoying don't you guys and gals think?
I have 3 left handed sons, does anyone know the odds of this?
http://blog.anythinglefthanded.co.uk/children/chance-lh-child
I am, my partner, my father, my three children, two sisters are all left handed.
We are doing all works which right handed people doing without any problem,
even though all products and tools in the world manufacturing for right handed people.
My mother told me that when I was small, I used to write with my left hand but she noticed that I changed it to left..
My mother's side of the family have lefties, so here I am-a lefty as well.
My mother told me that my penmanship was somewhat very different because of my left handedness. I like my penmanship but people complain that they can't read it well even though it's already legibly written.
Nobody has forced me to write with my right hand yet.
I'm left handed and I'm proud!
I am also a writer and a great reader. (Not to mention I am an amateur astronomer). I lurve this site
I'm left handed, my daughter's left handed, my great niece is left handed.
It's just great being different, but sometimes very difficult in a right handed world.
We lefties are adaptable though and that is a bonus for us. Unlike you Hannah I use the computer mouse right handed. Can't do left for love nor money.
Along with me at work there are another 5-6 lefties.
People should encourage their being left handed more. Just like how you show your left handedness by using your computer mouse with your left hand.
I'm left handed and I'm proud!
I wish I could use the same hand as freely as you guys do.
(Sorry for my English if there are mistakes.)
My Email is the3x0c1st@gmail.com if you are left-handed and want to have conversation about the "righty" world. I am bored and can use some conversation. So email me if you want to chat.
I remember when i was in school, my class teacher tried a lot to change my habit of writing in left hand, so much of rejection in this indian society for people who have the habit using left hand, i joined this group because i felt i belong to this group..!

My husband bought me a lefthanded violin and I am teaching myself.
But let's look on the bright side. We're unique. We're Rare type of people.. Imagine, there's only 10% of us in the world! We may have our disadvantages but think about how our advantages lift us up!
We should should be positive about ourselves. Let's not listen to what people say about us, after all, what do they know? They're not left handed.
I'm left handed and I'm proud!!
I remember growing up left handed in school my teacher used to make a big deal about letting the class know that I was left handed..When it was time to cut paper she would come over to me with these green handled scissors saying class We have some special scissors for our special little lefty hear...and I always had to use the fat pencil....and how about Everyone always asking why do You write like that upside down...Well Our presidend writes the same way so shove it....lol..I am very talented very creative and if being a lefty had anything to do with this..then I am soooo proud to be among the 13%...
It is wonderful society is becoming more accepting of our unique gifts and talents.
I wonder if a larger percentage of the population will become lefties when children are not pressured to choose right instead of left dominance.
Wow this is cool!!!!!!!
I do think that proof reading is something that lefthanders are good at, what do others think?
all 4 actors signing autographs on youtube there is no evidence what so eve
I was so happy joining the group and I wish all the best for us lef-handed people. :)
It is with great honor to finally find something of useful for me. I have been through so much in my life as a lefty. I was never comfortable when I used my left-hand in front of people, especially when I was very young. I feel that I am different in a lot of ways: using my left hand to write, do heavy chores, etc. I feel very awkward. Not only that I am left-hand person, but also have soft cleft. Trying to know who I am is not easy. It takes time to discover my comfort zone. Through morethan 20 years of schooling, I ovecome all the hardship of being a left-hander and soft cleft.
More to come...

I am surprised to know that there is a club for those of us whom were born with the gift of being left-handed. I am proud to be a part of this club, and shall do all that I can to let people know about this club's existence.
Thank you
I have a left handed son of five years old (the only one in both families, mom and dad) and i`m so happy to find this site. There`s not a lot of materials for the lefties in stores in Portugal.

I took a university course on ASL (American sign language). Do you seem to run into anyone that has problems understanding finger-spelling when you use your left hand? No problem with other signs, but people in class would get confused when I would sign a few letters. But then again, we were all student amateurs. ;)
I ´m a teacher from Greenland. I ´m lefthanded too. I ´ve never had problems when I teach the pupils. And all my pupils are left handed. I just to learn the pupils in writing.

I am so proud to be lefty and was introduced to the club by a friend of mine. We are a unique group of people and always ahead of time. Am proud to be lefty
I discovered that if you pick up the rod equipped with the fly line extending about 20ish feet from the tip, in your natural hand; there must an exact copy available for the other hand to use, This does not involve using hooks(of course) The way our brains work say that ; if I can do a movement or series of movements automatically in my lead hand, providing that there is an exact copy in my (can`t do anything with it ) hand the casting arm teaches the useless arm to imitate the move(s) without even the owner having to think at all,- RESULT!!! the flyline forms an exact shape in the air in both hands, so put good hand rod down then bad hand will have been taught in a few minutes. First off, I would like to say that I am so proud to be a left hander like my two brothers. And when I heard that there were so many musicians that write with the same hand like me (think Kurt Cobain or Jimi Hendrix) I was overjoyed, because I love their music.
And also to the creative artists in all the world. They changed my views on being a left hander altogether.
Thank you so much!!!!

I am a 43 years old teacher from Rio de Janeiro, Brasil. I am left-handed and my stepdaughter is left-handed too.
I am really glad I found this website. I am very proud to be left-handed, and I think, as a teacher, we shall always tell left-handed children that we are only different - not worse than others. I must confess that being a LH has it's charm too (smile).
Regards!
I'm so pride to be a left-handed, althought in writing I'm still write by the right hand.
It's may be has a bit trouble in eating, when your hand may touch with other hands, but if be noticed, it's not just a problem.
I love my left hand, since it helps me do a lot of think, and now, it's even stronger than my right hand.
My dad say that he don't care if I may left-handed or not, he even say that I may live longer than right-handed. A big thanks to my parent for the sympathy!
Love to share and to get. Want to get connect with many new friends!!!
Sincerely,
Evendo
