About this product

Left Hand Writing Skills Book 1 – 'Fabulous Fine Motor Skills'. The first of a series of three books specially created to help left-handed children develop their writing skills from the very beginning.

The first set of books ever to focus exclusively on left-handers, written by Mark and Heather Stewart who have a left-handed son and years of experience working with left-handers. The objective of Book 1 is to establish good basic habits of paper positioning and pencil hold, then to develop the fine motor skills needed for accurate, consistent writing at a later stage.

Pages are bound from the top of each worksheet, allowing the left hand to rest on a level surface with no obstacles – a key practical advantage over standard books.

The illustrations are aimed primarily at 6–7 year-olds, when many left-handed children become more conscious of the difference between their writing style and that of their right-handed peers. However, the overall design is suitable for any age – we've heard from grateful users nearer to retirement age than to next year's Year 2!
