Hofner 5000/1L Deluxe 4-String Electric Bass Guitar Left-Handed Natural
Though it shares the violin body style, body woods, and pickups, the Deluxe is a distinct departure from the Vintage models. Differences include a one-piece maple neck, ebony fretboard, gold-plated hardware, and diamond-shaped mother-of-pearl headstock inlays. Also, a dark, full-body binding contrasts with the lighter woods of the body and gives the Deluxe a look all its own. Light, responsive, and smooth. It features 2 powerful MEC humbuckers nestled closely in the center position, completely covering the legendary sweet-spot that so many basses miss completely. This configuration gives it a powerful, solid tone with depth and clarity. To make it versatile, 2 mini 3-way switches let you choose humbucker, single-coil, and parallel or series operation. Hofner 500/1 Vintage '63 Electric Bass Guitar Left-Handed Sunburst
In 1956, Walter Hofner had an idea for an amplified semi-acoustic bass. When it was brought to life, it proved a unique instrument with a smooth, sweet sound and a playing ease that simply eludes most ordinary basses. Many players revere Hofner's Violin Bass as a legend because of its historical significance and its warm, woody, double-bass-like amplified tone. Named for the year the most familiar version of the Violin Bass was popularized, the Vintage '63 captures its characteristic tone - deep, warm and reminiscent of a full-size string bass. Built to be as durable as its legacy, the compact-sized, easy-to-play, light-in-weight Vintage '63 is equally at home onstage or in the studio.Selected German spruce top, back and sides of flamed mapleMaple-beech-maple neckRosewood fretboard, 22 fretsMother-of-pearl dotsScale: 30" (76cm)Neck width at nut: 1-5/8" (42mm)Machine heads: Hofner 61/73B (4 individual)Hofner 72/20B ebony bridge with movable metal saddles for perfect intonation and string spacingHofner 62/30 trapeze tailpiece, brassHofner 65/36-P floating celluloid pickguard, pearl2 Hofner 511B "Staple" humbucking pickupsHofner A2-B: control panel with 2 volume controls, 2 on/off switches, rhythm/solo switch for volume boostNickel-plated hardwareAntique-brown sunburst finish
