I’m lefthanded. Unfortunately earlier this year I lost my right arm to necrotising fasciitis. Fortunately I was lefthanded from birth.
Because I only have the use of my left arm now there are two things that are causing me some frustration right now (actually there are loads but I’m picking on these two!).
Firstly are there any pure lefthanded digital camers out there? I’ve spent hours looking around the internet but the only advice I have found is to turn the camera upside down which just won’t work. I’m in the process of writing to several of the major camera manufacturers but no response yet. What I think would be best for me is a high quality compact rather than a DSLR as the weight of lens would probably make the camera unsteady when holding shooting with one hand.
The other area I have problems with is computer games. I bought a joystick first and foremost to see if I could control windows using it in combination some joystick to mouse conversion software. I have had some success with that. It helps overcome the situations where use of keyboard and mouse simultaneously is required. However I thought as I had the joystick I could also use it for play games using my left hand only. It works well with MS flight simulator but other games like the first person shooter type games I can’t use it at all. Is the anything on the market either game,software, or hradware device that would make this possible ? I have bought a couple of games, Call of Duty and stealth force but I just can’t use them as they require use of mouse and keyboard simultaneously and the joystick isn’t recognised. (Funnilt enoght the joystick market is one of the few markets that is very lefthanded aware! Mine can be used just as easily left or right handed.)
Bit of a long question I know. If you do take the time to read it I would very much appreciate any help or pointers to get me what I want.
