I have been in Shanghai, China for nearly four months now. I have not come across any left-handed Chinese people. I find this very strange. Chinese people are always surprised to see me write with my left-hand. They often say I am clever so that is nice! I asked a Chinese friend why there are no left-handed people in China and he says it is because they don't want people to be different. People who are naturally left-handed are forced to use their right hand. He says this is gradually changing, some young children are allowed to be left-handed now. I find the subject China and left-handers (or lack of left-handers) very interesting. If anybody has any comments are questions on this subject I would love to hear them.

I have difficulty with sense of direction but found in disney orlando U.S.A. I could read and understand the park maps much quicker and easier than my right handed friends who read maps much quicker than me in Britain. I also found shopping mall maps nearby to orlando were also easy to read and understand and my right handed friends got frustrated and said "what is wrong with this map" and headed off in the wrong direction all the time. I was amazed as I usually head off in the wrong direction when reading a map in Britain.
I also have difficulty with forward planning and seem to rush around at the last minute trying to cram everything in. I did not think it was being left handed I thought it was just me.

My question is: Are there any other left handers out there who have difficulty with forward planning. I don’t know if it’s just me or if it’s a common trait with left handedness.
Also, sense of direction, or lack of it! There have been many a time I have taken a wrong turn down a street and before I know it, hopelessly lost. Thereafter, find it very difficult in working out how to get my bearings right again.
