The clever and innovative design means you can start with something looking like a pen that can be stored safely in your pocket or bag and just remove the cap, slide out the handles and have a perfectly good pair of left-handed scissors. They can easily be converted from left-handed to right-handed or back by simply removing the handle guides and popping them in on the other side. These are the first scissors that are genuinely both left and right handed with the blades fully reversed in either direction.
Now only available in pink
Maybe you don't really need left-handed scissors because...
You can just turn right-handed ones upside down and that makes them left-handed
Er - NO! Right-handed scissors have the top blade on the right and it will always stay that way whichever way you turn them round and you still will not be able to see your cutting line or make them cut properly.
You can buy "ambidextrous" scissors that work for right-and left-handed people
NO again - it is the same problem - left-handed scissors need to be manufactured with the blades reversed so the top blade in on the LEFT. We have seen some scissors that have RIGHT-handed blade positions but have just the handles moulded for a lefthander and they are completely useless!
It is better to just get used to right-handed scissors as they are all that is normally available.
Well, us left-handers ARE adaptable and it is possible with a lot of manipulation to sort-of make right handed scissors work in your left hand. But it will be uncomfortable and they won't cut properly, so why do that when you have the chance to use proper LEFT-HANDED scissors? This one is particularly bad for CHILDREN when they first start cutting things out at school because they will not be able to do it and will be seen as awkward and hopeless by the teacher and the rest of the class. Why not just make it EASY?
So - maybe you DO need proper LEFT-HANDED scissors if you want to cut things accurately and easily!
Pencut safety scissors left or right handed These are a great idea, easy to carry safely and are truly both left and right handed! Jeni
Fab! Love these scissors. Handy that they can be changed ... he's a left hander, I'm a right ... so either of us can use them. Well designed too. We're both engineers and were both impressed.
Great Item! Most useful! This is a great item! I purchased three of them--one for me (left-handed) and two for quilter family members for Christmas. I love the fact that you can carry them in pocket or purse for multiple uses, not just for quilting. While on vacation recently I wished to have had a scissors handy. Marilyn White
Great useful design Bought these for lefthanded daughter. She loves them because a) they have no pointy bits so she can carry them with her all the time and b) they are really comfortable to use. Got a pair for lefthanded granddaughter who loves them for the same reasons. I'm righthanded and also find them easy to use. teribus
Good scissors - weak handles. Great scissors, and love the way fold up into pen: thus always have with me. Didn't find instructions how to change handles easy to follow, and feel handles - especially the retainers for them - flimsy, and (the retainers at least) could easily get lost. But you don't need handles; fine as scissors. J. P.
Good idea that does work. Poor hinge quality The scissors do work and are convenient for the pocket. They are quite good. I was hoping for rather better build quality for the price. Because one handle is offset from the other the scissors tended to twist when cutting. The hinge soon get s loose. A good attempt so 4* but please improve. Pete Walton
Good - too good maybe My son loved these scissors. He had the children's scissors but his hands had outgrown them and he needed a pair for school. This pair were ideal - fitted neatly into his pencil case and did all the cutting out he needed. Sadly they have today been confiscated for being "too close to a knife". Rachel Pearce
