The lead pencil is the second step in the Griffix system, helping your child quickly learn to write their first letters and giving great preparation for writing with ink. The three indentations on the innovative grip give the perfect writing position and the little face moulded into the grip shows the correct position to hold it. Pelikan have made this with a left-handed grip and the printing ont he barrel and position of the smiley face are both positioned for left-handers.
The end of the pen rotates to wind the lead in or out. It is supplied with one lead in the pencil and a refill pack of three more - the leads are 2mm diameter.

Fantastic, brilliant, can't praise highly enough My son, who is 7 and left handed, needed to improve his handwriting. The school couldn't offer any suggestions on how I could assist with this, finding this webiste and this product was a godsend - his confidence has improved and he now 'likes' English instead of 'hating' English. Works great for my 4-year old son. He has several different brands for left-handed but he always chooses this one. (29/02/2012) -
Great pencil. I would agree with the other reviews. Great as a first pencil, but the lead is big and at school they are always losing the sharpener etc... (05/08/2010) -
great pencil ! .a great pencil, i have both a left and right handed child and it's great for both, the barrel is wide, grips are well placed, even for little hands, much better than a removable pencil grip, the only downside is the lead is thick and soft, so their writing looks big. Really improves Left Handed Childs Grip My son is very happy with this pencil. With the exercise book his writing has improved alot. His teacher doesn't like that the lead is so big but I'm happy his writing is improving. He is holding the pen much better(had a very awkward grip). Would like to see a sharpner for it (04/12/2009) Hector - Ireland
Seems to be working well! My Lefty has fine-motor delays and her grip is one thing that needs to be worked on. I wish the grips were labeled so I could help her position her fingers more easily. (13/08/2010) -
